We did go outside in the rain just long enough to gather our eggs, (gather our eggs, doesn't that sound country) I could just say get the eggs, or collect the eggs, but gather the eggs sounds so nice... We got four eggs today, 1 brown, 2 white and 1 green. Luke love them, he was sitting out in the rain singing to the chickens earlier today.
We are having left over cream of vegetable soup from yesterday for dinner so I have no plans to do anything other than skim the net, watch tv and maybe eat popcorn...
Please pray for Daddy, he has an MRI on his knee today at 5pm, I think I mentioned a few weeks back that he hurt his knee, well it's not better, and even though he still works all day and builds chicken coops he is still in alot of pain, he will need surgery to repair his knee, just pray that the doctors find all that's wrong and it can be repaired quickly!

Does singing to chickens help? Not that I need to know. But, 4 eggs. That's a good days work! And, oh, I'm with you on the rain!
Maybe they like his singing but I'm sure it has nothing to do with their willingness to produce eggs...
4 eggs, great! I'm headin' that way for an omelet...yum!
I will be praying for H.D.
I love days like that. I don't know about the egg thing, sounds fun, but nothing goes better than rainy days and Pj's! Praying for H.D.
In a dry and weary land where there is no rain, I am coveting your rainy day pajama party.
Please send some rain our direction...oh, and there is something about eating an egg that creeps me out...maybe because it came out of a chickens butt.
??Don't get me wrong...I still eat eggs, but kinda makes ya go hmmmm....

There's just nothing like gathering eggs! Aren't chickens wonderful? They are so entertaining! Each one with their own unique personality and voice. My husband can tell you which of the chickens is talking just by the cluck!!!
Blessings to you, farmer!

Ok, we had a chicken once...Peeper (original huh? :). We live in an association and you can imagine how they would feel about us having one let alone a dozen! She caught on that we were snatching her eggs (cause we took them right out from under her der) and she began to charge us and peck us nearly to death (NOT KIDDING!) So she's livin' with other chickens now, and I think she may finally believe she is NOT human! It was fun while it lasted, and a great home school project watching her hatch and grow.
I thought of you today as I was gathering eggs. Yep, I said eggs.
We live in a suburban area...completely unaware of the blessings of livestock...(are chickens considered livestock?)...and I thought of rural you with your acres and your chicken coop.
Oh, did I mention...they were PLASTIC eggs...and my 16 month old was playing with them and left them all over the house.
