A Cooking Meme

The Maid has tagged me to do a cooking meme so here goes...

When was the most recent time you were burned?
I lifted the lid off of a pot of soup last week and the steam gave me a nasty little blister on my pinky, so last week.

Can you cook?
Can I cook, me, well yes,  and I have been told I make the best potato salad in the world and that there is no better soup than MY chicken noodle and that as for Pecan pie I win the prize, since you asked.

If yes name your specialties.
I make wonderful baked beans, peanut butter pie, BBQ chicken, corn bread to name a few.

Do you enjoy cooking?
I absolutely love cooking so much!  I love preparing for large family dinners I find it fun to read cook books really I do that for fun!

What color is your kitchen?
My kitchen is barn door red, with farm animal decor, like a picture of a dairy cow and a flying pig and lots of red things.

Do you bake?
All the time!  I love to make dessert, fresh muffins and breads.  I bake at least twice a week.

What do you like to bake?
My favorite thing to bake is dessert, and my favorite dessert is Cherry Dump Cake.  I will have to share that recipe next week.

What color is your apron?
I have a fancy white apron for company, I have a Thanksgiving apron and a Christmas apron and I have a pink every day apron and a white and blue gingem one those where my great grandma's, my favorite apron Twice Blessed Mommy gave me for Christmas it's a Vera Bradley.  And I am waiting to see what the Apron Queen sends me, for helping her promote Rick Rack Attack.

You are fast! :)

I really want all of the recipes you are talking about...and I actually love to cruise through cookbooks and think about trying new things.

Paula Deen has inspired me to do some things from time to time...and I don't totally stink at it...I am just uneducated! :)

I love a red kitchen! So homey. I'm also a fan of making desserts.

(now I am clearing my throat)

My mother-in-law makes the best potato salad in the world. I even wrote an ode to it on my blog a few years ago. Yours is probably #2.

I have to tell you that I LOVE aprons. They are just the most wonderful things and I love how I feel when I am wearing them. For me, it is like posting a sign that something wonderful is about to happen -- something tasty and fun.

Wishing you a terrific Monday!

Wish I could say I loved to cook. I hate it - and it's gotta be done SO MANY times!

Hello there.
Awhile back you had visited and commented on my blog a few times, and since then I disappeared from the blog world, pretty much the whole world, due to the pregnancy of my fourth child. Just wanted to let you know I am attempting to step back into the world of blogging, so you're welcome to come back and visit me. My attempt may be less then perfection due to my newborn, but I am aiming to get the wheels turning in my brain again.
Thanks!

What a fun meme! You are such a great cook! We're heading out of town for around 10 days (and I'm scheduling posts), but I'm going to try to get to the meme before I leave!

You know you inherited good cooking genes, don't you. Your great grandmother was the absolute best cook ever.
Tony commented the other day about what a wonderful wife she was. -- I did NOT inherit those genes. hehe.
I just wonder how much you can remember about her... before her health started to fail.
Every Sunday was like Thanksgiving. Two or three meats, all sorts of vegetables and casseroles, and multiple desserts.
Do you have her recipe for French Cherry Pie? If not, email me and I'll hook you up.
The men loved that pie so much! They would hide pieces of it so they could have more later.

I made my cooking meme part of my 'fro post for tomorrow! It was a stretch b/c I'm not much of a cook! It's not like you to not post, I hope everything is okay and the pink eye is finally gone!
