I am hooked, hooked bad!

I was reading Rocks in my Dryer last week when she gave a book review on Twilight.  Have you all read Twilight?  If so do not tell me a thing I'm almost done.  I started reading it yesterday and well I am 400 pages in.  I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning read last night, I just can't put it down!
Great book!  Yes it is a non-scary vampire book, sounds kind of weird but it keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more and more.
As I was saying I am hooked.  I called my sister in law Jess yesterday who shares my love of books and she has heard all about it.  I'll be done today and I might just send it to her it's that good!

I am starting my woman's Bible study time today at 9 so I need to get dressed and vacuum before anyone starts showing up.  Or maybe I'll cancel and read my book. just kidding!

I will however be putting Daisy down for a nap at 12 promptly!

Please know that this is only meant to encourage your walk with our DHF.

I've been offered and recommended this book many times over as I also love love love a good book but truthfully my stomach lurked when I read this AM your "hook..hooked bad to this non-scary vampire book..." to each their own.

Comes off innocent enough but truly these kinds of books don't cultivate a love of Christ nor would He want to read them with you, I'm thinking.

IMHO~ I'm sorry the "popular bloggette" didn't recommend something more wholesome.

Just be careful to consider this an invitation to an open back door to the enemy. Even though your still studying the Bible...even Jesus was tempted.
For us where there is darkness there is not light but where there is light no darkness can hide.

Just a geniune concern...

Um, yeah.

You and I seem to be in the same boat. Did you read my post from yesterday?

I can't put it down either. I'm in the middle of book 2 and am about to just go out and buy books 3 & 4 because no way am I going to be able to wait for my library to get them to me.

Oh, MY!

I have family coming to visit late this afternoon. I really can't spend all day reading.

I can't.

Really.

But I'll just read a few more chapters...

I have read all 4 books and am anxiously awaiting the 5th (Twilight retold through Edward's perspective). My lips are sealed.

Because it's a vampire story, it set on my nightstand for months. I just wasn't sure I wanted to read it. When I finally picked it up, I couldn't put it down.

PS~ I want to just clear the thick air a little and explain if you misunderstood, when I say hooked it's a very loose term. I am no more hooked on a secular fiction book that that of a Christian fiction book like the Terri Blackstock mysteries I love. Being an avid read is part of who I am, I love my time with the Lord each and every morning, which I do long before I read fiction or blogs for that matter.
As an avid reader it's hard at times to put a book down but they never take the time away from my family or the Lord! I enjoy a great piece of fiction, like the Shack for instance has been labeled cult like and in other Christian realms God ordained...
I enjoyed the wonderful piece of fiction it was.
I also enjoy a good mystery movie, I do not watch movies with sex Thats Real, or movies with major killing Thats Real, or even books based on those things.
Vampires are in no way real in the super human strength kind of way, so I have no real fear of being persuaded to the dark side of things.
I do appreciate your concern, I really do and as a Christian blogger, I am sure some people hold me to a different standard. And if I don't always live up to that standard that may truly upset them, but I am a sinner like everyone else. And if God convicts me not to read these books I won't....

I will say that a woman from football whom I heard about these books from who is not the same religion and I have befriended each other, she came to my mom's time this morning as we prayed for ourselves as mom's and we prayed for each others children, it really made her more comfortable that I liked to read and I liked suspense books as well as her and in-spite of our religious differences she has chosen to come to a Christian group. I think if I would have looked down on her choice of book I would never have had a chance to share Christ with her at all.

Again thank you for your concern, I did publish your comment, just incase this might be a book some people should steer clear of, I would never intentionally be a stumbling block for anyone!

I've seen everyone reading this on the subway. I'm a big reader but I don't think I could ever get into a vampire book though. I might have to try it if you say it's this good!

Oh boy! I am going to chime in here! My family was waiting on food and clean laundry for two days this summer while I read the first book. My kids enjoyed 5 hours at the pool. They are amazing. Harry Potter got the same flack. To each their own. I love Jesus and I love vampire books. Please no emails, just me opinion!

I will have to check it out. My mom reads books within a day or two, I'll tell her to read it and send it on to takes a month to read one-me. The only books I read these days are ones that have the words oink and moo in them:)

Wow. What a first comment.

I got comments like that when I confessed to LOVING Harry Potter books. And yes, I was hooked like a desperate street urchin. I needed a Harry Potter i.v., let me tell you.

Do I feel witchy? Nope.

Warlocky? Not a chance.

Is my faith intact? You betcha.

I'm off to read that book, doggone it.

Blessings!
