I'm back

I have so many things to share about our trip but today I will talk about Daddy.  He is had his surgery on Monday.  The surgery went really well.
But what I want to talk about is how amazing an experience it is to have a Doctor pray with you and how he blessed us so much.  When we arrived at the Doctors office Dr. Leverett's wife was waiting for us, she watched our children while Daddy had the surgery.  Dr Leverett then sat down with us to have a little talk, at this point he said he wanted to talk to me...  He said that I needed to understand that I have a husband who loves me more than anything in the world, that for a man to go through this is the ultimate act of love, 30 minutes later I understood why.  This procedure is very painful, see they have to grasp the testicle and make the initial cut then pull it out of the body THEN numb the area.  Yes, thats right you read that correct, this slows the swelling and gives the Dr the best look at the vas deference.  My husband is the most amazing man in the world.  I was able to hold his hand and talk to him while he went through this for our future child.  Dr. Leverett  prayed for Daddy's body to except the surgery and be restored to normal function quickly and the prayed for us to have a baby.
We talked and prayed, laughed and even cried as we shared our story to the Doctor.  I have always loved Daddy even as a 16 year old girl I loved him, the day we were married I knew I loved him more than anything, when we first held our son somehow my heart grew I loved him more and with each day and each child my heart for my husband strangely grew with more and more love for this man almost amazing that someone you would lay your life down for you can love more!  Monday as I held Daddy's hand as he went through this it happened once more, my heart grew by leaps and bounds, I am so blessed to have Daddy, so blessed he loves me as much as he does, so filled with joy for our life together, so in love with this man.  If he never told me he loved me again I will always know and no act of romance would ever measure what he did on that table for the rest of my life,  the Doctor knows that allowing the wife to be a part of this surgery is a great part of his ministry, it is just amazing to their marriage!
I will tell you more about our trip tomorrow...  The Alamo, and then the car accident we were in and all the great food in TX....

I interrupt this blog for Vacation!

So I thought last week was bad...  When we got home from church on Sunday which was also my Sweet, Wonderful, Loving Husbands birthday, a very large tree had fallen down in our yard a tree which stood only 5 feet from our house.  I will now say hallelujah and praise the Lord it fell away from the house.  We where experiencing very hard winds and the tree just came tumbling down.
So Daddy spent about 3 hours with the chainsaw cutting and stacking.  While he was busy doing that the power went out and stayed out for the next 24 hours.
Let me be the first to say this really sucked!  NO birthday cake no ribeye steaks no baked potatoes no heat.  Did I mention it was the coldest night of the year.  Thank God we have a fireplace we ate hotdogs and I cut up some potatoes wrapped in foil and cooked them in the fire.  We stayed pretty warm with the fire, Happy Daddy read us a few chapters of the Chronicles of Narnia by candle light and we slept on mattresses in the middle of the family room floor all five of us.
Now the next morning was much worse with no power means no pump for the well which means after HD left for work I had to go down to the creek and fetch water to flush the potty.  It was 19 out side, people!  I had to carry it all the way up to the house and gather wood, I was all out primitive!  And then I had to pack our suitcases, But I did it...
And Thank God at 2pm the power came back on.
So that was our weekend and now off to TX I think we deserve a vacation!  And Please keep Daddy in your prayers he will be having surgery on Monday.

Only 6 days and overwhelmed!

I am just in shock that we are flying to TX in only 6 days!  We have been doubling up on school work, washing clothes like crazy, making lists and more lists....
I still have so much to do.  I went shopping on Tuesday night all by myself, which is a very rare occasion, and it speaks volumes for me to call Wal-Mart an occasion.
I bought the kids all their own backpacks and got toys they have never seen to fill the backpacks, we will entertain them on the plane with the new toys.
So that will cover the first 30 minutes on the plane, we then have a portable DVD player for the next 2 hours, I got the Aristocats and Snow Buddies which came out on Tuesday.  I found out it costs for food on the plane, you have to pay $5 per person per meal, I am just a little shocked that that is not included in the 500-600$ Ticket, I mean what's that all about!  Anyway hopefully eating will take care of the rest of the flight.
On a totally not related to my overwhelmed state of mind, after getting the kids the 2 new movies the other day, I started to clean up our DVD cabinet and to my surprise the DVD's won't fit they are stacked everywhere, now the case holds 200 DVD's and so I started to count them You won't believe me if I tell you...  286 yes thats only kid movies, I was just as surprised as you are!   I think we might be just a little bite over the top with our movie collection.
So today I have been printing directions to hotels and to the airport and from here or there and to the Doctor, I like to be prepared.
Tonight Happy Daddy and I are going to write out and print of course a detailed itinerary so we don't miss out on anything we wanted to do.
So I will be taking a break from the blog starting next Tuesday.  Please pray for us, I am still nervous about the flight.  I have been praying for over a month now for Daddy's surgery not to be to painful and for it to work perfectly and of course for me to get pregnant.  Just pray for us, please...

Have you heard the expression

When it rains it POURS...
Lets set the stage here, last Saturday Daisy flushed a rubber duck down the toilet...
She told me she did, Bo told me she did it, I still thought maybe just maybe they were mistaken, so I neglected to tell Happy Daddy, thinking this would make him just a little less than Happy.
On Tuesday night I went out on a lovely date with HD, when we went out to start our mini van well it wouldn't, so we hopped in his truck and took off anyway, we were determined not to let a little car trouble keep us down.
The next morning we tried to jump start the car this worked so I drove to the local Advanced Auto and had them run a diagnostic test on the car it came up that the battery might me bad or the alternator...
So I drove home so that HD could figure out what to do, Wednesday was relatively uneventful until right before dinner when I went into my Master bath it took me a minute for my brain to compute that I was standing in WATER.  At some point very early in the day my commode puked for hours all over my bathroom and into my dressing room and in to my closet and into my bedroom, Do you remember we had new carpet put in last week...
My once beautiful carpet now had well really nasty stuff I won't fill you in on all the details.  It was so much water I ran under the house to find it raining in my walk in crawl space.
Happy Daddy now Very Unhappy not being filled in on the duck incident was very confused to say the least.  He unlike I thought it was very important information if you think a child flushes a duck down the potty, I was sorry he was like, well, overwhelmed.  He started to pull the insulation down so it could dry while I used a shop vac and for the next hour tried to suck up the stuff, To no avail.  HD pulled up the carpet.
It was ruined I just can't believe it.  It was raining under our house, our carpet must be replaced and the car won't start.  Did I mention that our refinance closed giving us an extra money?
I really swear that every time we have money everything breaks...  Now we could get mad we could cry we could do a lot of things but we prayed.
We thanked God our well didn't run dry with all the water, we thanked God that we had the money and that we could pay for what ever repairs needed to be made while continuing to stay out of debt. We thanked God that on Thursday we found out that the Battery was bad and that we had bought a 3 year warranty and got a battery for free replacement.
I feel like stuff just happens it life, it will be ok, I am determined not to let stuff get me down.
HD is also feeling blessed through the junk, it could always be worse and yet God spares us so much because we depend on him.
We prayed standing right out in the middle of our yard in the dark 30 degree weather with it raining under our house and asked God to protect us from this untimely disaster, protect this money we have so that we can be wise stewards of what God gives us.
So when it rains it pours but I won't let Satan rob my joy, or take away my blessings.
I may need new carpet AGAIN but my car runs great!
